HUECU Annual Meeting Held

Wednesday, March 28, 2012 the Credit Union held its 73rd Annual Meeting.  Chairman of the Board, George White welcomed member attendees and commended the strength of the Credit Union community as evidenced by HUECU’s significant 30,000 member milestone reached in 2011.

Credit Union CEO, Eugene Foley addressed the membership on the state of the Credit Union and reported another year of steady growth in assets, profitability, and liquidity. He explained how this prosperity allowed HUECU to make key investments in its future growth in 2011.  These included the Credit Union’s new Charlestown Navy Yard Branch and the Harvard Square main branch renovations. Foley also reiterated the Credit Union’s mission of providing simple, honest value to our members, and remaining a trusted partner in their financial lives.

Treasurer, John Lichten presented the Credit Union’s audited financials included in the 2011 Annual Report which was distributed at the meeting. He demonstrated that HUECU continues to be a well-capitalized, financially strong institution where members can feel confident saving and borrowing.

At the close of the meeting, the winners of the Board of Directors election were announced. The open seats were won by the five incumbent Directors on the ballot.  They are Karen A. DeBerio, Edward A. Emde, Thomas J. Lucey,  Jeremiah P. Murphy Jr., and Christian J. Schumann.
