2018 HUECU Board of Director Candidates
James M. Barrows*
Associate Director, Community Affairs and Economic Development, Harvard University
HUECU provides invaluable financial services and credit education. During my term I have seen how the financial literacy program leads to financial independence that helps members become homeowners, plan for retirement or attend college. My commitment to community service and past Chairmanship of the Board of Trustees of Massasoit Community College has prepared me to contribute to HUECU’s immediate and long term goals. I’m asking for your vote for my re-election to the HUECU board.
Dennis W. Campbell*
Dwight P. Robinson, Jr. Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School
I have taught in the MBA and Executive Education programs at the HBS for the past 13 years. My current research, teaching, and case writing are at the intersection of performance measurement, management control systems, and strategy execution within organizations. I am particularly interested in strategy and performance management in credit unions, with a focus on identifying principles that underlie their capability to consistently deliver effective and profitable customer experiences. Over the last 5 years I’ve had the privilege to serve the membership as a Director on the Board and a member of the Asset/Liability Management Committee. As HUECU faces challenges and many opportunities in the future, I would value the chance to continue serving as a Director.
Dee Dee A. Chen*
Director, Professional Staff Compensation and Benefits, Partners HealthCare System
I will work to ensure that more Personal Financial Education is available to members. As a benefits director and financial planner, I have observed that many people graduate from high school, college and even graduate school completely unprepared to manage their finances. HUECU is poised to step-in to provide both just in time and preparatory financial education to its diverse membership, keeping them from making costly financial mistakes.
Thomas J. Lucey*
Director of Cambridge Government and Community Relations, Harvard University
As a current member of the Board, I have had the pleasure of working with my colleagues and the HUECU management team for three terms during which time, HUECU has enjoyed growth and expansion of services to our members and the University. I hope to continue the positive strides we have made in the past decade with the primary goal of serving our members.
Jeremiah P. Murphy*
President, Harvard COOP
I would like to continue serving as a director to help guide the Credit Union to exceed its growth and service goals for members. As President of the Harvard COOP, I offer both marketing and financial knowledge and experience and, most importantly, an understanding of the Harvard extended community and how to best serve them. It is a privilege and honor to be part of the HUECU extended family.
