Co-founder Liz Powers — a Harvard alum — wrote a thesis that explored the social benefits of art therapy programs. Upon graduating, Liz continued her work in shelters and founded Artlifting in 2013 with her brother Spencer Powers.
Artlifting has been featured on ABC local news, the Huffington Post and the Boston Globe.
The HUECU flagship branch in Harvard Square is currently displaying artwork from Artlifting until the end of the summer. Members are welcome to stop by the branch and check out the amazing pieces on display.
