System Breach at the TJX Company: What You Need to Know.
|
On January 18th, TJX, a Framingham based retailer that operates T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Bob’s Stores, Home Goods, and A.J. Wright chains, disclosed that its computer system for processing and storing customer transaction data had been breached. TJX notified authorities at the time of the breach in mid-December, but was instructed to keep the breach a secret until now.
We strongly suggest all members carefully examine their recent debit card and credit card transaction histories for anything suspicious. If you see unusual activity, and are concerned that your information may have been compromised, we will gladly review your account with you. AlertMe™

The Harvard University Employees Credit Union is excited to announce AlertMe, a new credit-monitoring service designed to help members fight identity theft which is a growing problem that affects millions of Americans. AlertMe gives early warning of activity on your credit report. Since credit report activity can be a sign of possible identity theft, early detection can help you catch problems quickly to minimize losses.
AlertMe monitors your Experian credit file daily. New accounts, credit cards over the credit limit, and address changes are just a few of the items AlertMe monitors. If an activity occurs, AlertMe will send you an email alerting you to the activity. You can log into the AlertMe Web site to read details about the activity and determine if it is suspicious. AlertMe will also send an email to remind you to order your annual free credit reports.
The AlertMe cost is $4.25 per month. Quarterly and annual plans are available at a reduced rate. To enroll or learn more, simply click on the AlertMe on our home page.

Also effective April 1, 2006; for members with a low balance share account
only, an account maintenance fee of $2.50 will be assessed each month that
the average monthly balance is less than $500.00 and the account owner has no
other banking relationships within that membership account. This fee will not
apply to members under 19 years old or 65 years and older. Any other relationship
within this membership account number, such as checking or other deposit accounts,
any loan, mortgage, or credit card will result in this fee being waived even if
the share savings average balance is less than $500.00 for that month.

ATM Deposits at HUECU! |

HUECU now has four ATM locations that accept deposits. Deposits are accepted at the ATMs located in the Holyoke Center and 16 Dunster Street in Harvard Square, Massachusetts General Hospital, Longwood Medical Area in the Harvard School of Public Health, and at our Operations Center at 1678 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge. HUECU has two additional ATMs at the Charlestown Navy Yard and the Harvard Business School Spangler Center that disburse cash and allow for transfers and inquiries. The four deposit taking ATMs are part of the NYCE Shared Deposit Program, and all HUECU ATMs participate in the SUMSM Program!
